NIGHT IN VIETNAM

This is our tour guide . we were waiting for the stall to open. The Banh canh noodles that we were looking for, taken there by our tour guide. This stall only opens after 9 pm.
This is the noodles, with the pork leg and pork

blood, boil with raddish. Very tasty.
One extra bowl of pig's blood and pig's leg. My brothers loved it! So did the tour guide, he ordered a take away for his wife, for supper!

One of the hot pot we had for dinner , nothing special, the dish was very blend. We seem to have squids for every dinner.Posted by Picasa

VIETNAM -STREET FOOD

The beautiful gardens beside this church in Saigon. That day the weather was cool with a light breeze , it was very peaceful. I think this is the St. Marie church.

The side street beside the Ben Tham market. We were looking for the Banh canh noodles,
couldn't find any so we had to order this. Notice the sugar cane grinder on the left, we even ordred a few glasses of sugar cane jucie, even though we knew it didn't look that clean!

This is the noodles, disappointed, and expensive.

our sugar cane drinks and noodles. not what we expected.Posted by Picasa

WAR MUSEUM _ 3

More models of the viet- kong traps.

Models of viet-kongs
stripping the bomb to get the gun powder.

Their staple diet, boiled cassava with pounded peanuts and sugar dip.
This was serviced to us after the tour of the tunnels. It was also grown in the jungle as they did then. Not bad for a snack.

More unexploded bombs

WAR MUSEUM , VIETNAM

This is a model of the viet-kong tunnel. To go to the place of this tunnel is a 3hr. drive.

Most of the trees in this area are new. The old ones died with the bombing and burning. This is one of the tunnels leading into other tunnels. As you can see from the model, there are levels , very well planed , if you happen to go down alone , you'll be lost without a guide.!

One of the traps, set up by the viet-kongs.
These are made of bamboo, because the viet-kongs had no other material, living in the jungle, with only trees and bamboo, this is the best they can do, sharpen bamboo spikes. Its a slow and painful death if not rescused in time.

This war musuem is a sad place, who is right or wrong, war is such an ugly affair! The death of thousands showed in photos is such a terrible thing to see.
